Role Description The Medical Doctor role at DrSafeHands is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai/Coimbatore The doctor will provide evidence-based sexual health consultations, conduct clinical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans for STIs and related conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include counseling patients on safe sexual practices, ensuring informed consent, maintaining strict confidentiality, and documenting encounters in medical records with accuracy. The doctor will collaborate with counselors, lab partners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, manage follow-ups, and support continuity of treatment. The role also involves staying current with guidelines in sexual health and infectious diseases, contributing to clinical quality improvement, and promoting a non-judgmental, inclusive care environment.
Qualifications
- Hold an MBBS degree from a recognized institution; additional specialization in dermatology, venereology, or infectious diseases is an advantage.
- Maintain active medical registration with relevant regulatory authorities and comply with local licensing requirements.
- Communicate clearly in English; proficiency in Tamil or other regional languages is highly beneficial for patient interaction.
- Show ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and manage a consistent, full-time on-site schedule.
- Prior experience in sexual health or public health settings is preferred but not mandatory; openness to ongoing training is expected.
